Pollwatching

In addition to registering voters, DAWN Voter Advocates pollwatch at election time to make sure that voters are not disenfranchised. Pollwatchers add extra eyes and ears to the polling places on election day, and our volunteers watch that polling places are accessible, we report machine glitches, and we watch for and report electioneering, discrimination and intimidation at the polling places.

Because we have registered so many new voters, we want to make sure that their rights are protected. We were the first non-partisan group in DuPage to pollwatch in an election ( March 2004. ) We have pollwatched in every major election since then.
